A packed audience at Startup Wednesday “Silicon Valley – The Next Step?”

Over 170 visitors came to the newly adapted space of the Technology Park Zagreb, where the Croatian Business Angels Network – CRANE and the Zagreb Development Agency have organized yet another interesting Startup Wednesdays in a row.

Hrvoje Prpić, member of CRANE’s Management Board, shared his experience of visiting Silicon Valley and getting acquainted with their startup ecosystem. Hrvoje had spent the last five months in Silicon Valley where he participated in countless meetings with different people from the startup world, attended dozens of events and gained a true impression of the local investment climate. He concludes that one should be prepared for a lot of trials and give time to oneself and to one’s idea in order to reach success. He claims that is not necessary for startups to go to the US. Neither does that visit alone imply a higher level of development, nor does it mean a success in the global market. And finally, the most important thing – one should be completely ready before going to the Silicon Valley.

Again, we have invited the leading members of Croatian executive authority to present us with the new information and opportunities in the economy. Mario Antonić, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, has presented interesting news and opportunities for entrepreneurs.

Frane Šesnić, the CEO of Development Agency Zagreb, has presented the program of the Technology Park Zagreb along with the new investment fund. The purpose of founding the Zagreb Development Agency was encouraging and providing advisory support to Zagreb’s entrepreneurs as well as to those who wish to become one. The Technological Park Zagreb is becoming the central place for the startup ecosystem in our capital city.

An additional surprise was also the launch of Baggizmo startup – i.e. their new product, a smart-wallet Wiseward.
