Core Incubator becomes the new member of CRANE

Croatian Business Angel Network (CRANE) has accepted Core Incubator as its member – the first institution to be accepted, thereby adding to the strength of its support for start-up ecosystem development in Croatia. Just last year CRANE had accepted 8 new members and ensured over 1.5 million kuna of investments, and the positive trend, of increased investments and membership, is continuing unabated in 2016.

“I am very pleased that we are beginning to grow consolidate and grow the domestic startup scene, and we are getting stronger in our struggle to improve conditions of investment. Core Incubator, headed by people like Mr. Bangoura, is one of the pioneers of startup incubators, and so far has attracted the attention of large investment funds, with which they are actively cooperating. I believe that this is the right path, and that the very fact that Core Incubator is an institution opens the way for other similar institutions to join us. Anyone who invests in start-ups, whether an individual or an institution, is welcome to join the Croatian Business Angel Network – CRANE. We all share the same goals, and that’s an increase in number of investments and a rapid improvement of business climate in Croatia,” stated Davorin Štetner, the president of CRANE.

Core Incubator is a company founded by a fund from Abu Dhabi, and is operating as a start-up incubator, offering pre-seed and seed investments. By now they had invested in 17 projects, of which 12 were founded as companies. Aside from investments, an important support for start-ups is their CoreHub, a co-working space, owned by Core Incubator, which offers teams all sorts of support necessary to achieve their goals. For entry to CoreHub start-ups can apply on any day of the year, and aside from free work space, available 24/7, these teams are provided with mentoring support.
