The Croatian Business Angels Network (CRANE) held the Annual Reporting Assembly on Uber’s premises yesterday. After the formal part of the Assembly, a presentation about ICO was held by the member of the CRANE Management Board member Hrvoje Prpić.
CRANE President Davorin Štetner reported CRANE’s activities in 2017 such as visiting Tel Aviv, continuing cooperation with Israeli embassy , a meeting of the EBAN Central-Eastern Zone in Malaga, participating at the second annual conference of the Association of Croatian-American professionals in Chicago, the Golden Kuna Award, active participation in the program and the award choice, the organization of the first HoReC MeetUp in Croatia, the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation with Croatian Exporters and a series of other activities.
He also noted the successfully done Zagreb Connect 2017 conference, which was attended by more than 600 participants – investors, start-ups, business angels, prominent lecturers, journalists, and visitors.
The CRANE Assembly accepted the financial and operational reports of the president which highlighted that the trend of investing in ICO projects block chain-based startups is increasing. The same topic was presented by the member of the Management Board, Hrvoje Prpić, who highlighted that liquidity is extremely high, unlike the classic startups, together with the number of fraud and it is important to investigate everything about the projects, especially the teams behind the ICOs.
“My estimate is that there are as many as 95% frauds or ICOs that are not capable of doing what they promised. We can reduce our investment risk by checking whether projects are based on block chain and team analysis”, said Hrvoje Prpić.
After the presentation on ICOs, the pitches were presented too. Four selected startups had an opportunity to present their projects to business angels, and CRANE’s chairman proposed to present few pitches at each of the next annual CRANE Assembly.
