On Wednesday, December 2, Baybars Altuntas, Vice President of the European Business Angels Network (EBAN) and President of the Turkish Business Angels Network, came to Zagreb on official business, to meet with the leadership of CRANE, the official candidates for the organization of Winter University 2016. Winter University is a world renowned conference, visited each year by several hundred business angels with the goal of exchanging experience, as well as realizing collaborations and mutual investments.
Baybars Altuntas was welcomed by Davorin Štetner, President of CRANE, and together they visited the office of the President of the Republic in order to meet with Mr Marko Jurčić, President’s economic advisor. Later that day, they visited the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts where they were welcomed by Maja Pokrovac, Minister’s advisor.
On Thursday morning, Davorin Štetner and Baybars Altuntas held a meeting with Mr Želimir Kramarić, Vice President of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, after which they both participated in the panel discussion on business angels’ investments within the Balkan Venture Forum.
“I am glad to see a very well organized Croatian Business Angels Network, and was mostly impressed with the support that CRANE has from the highest state institutions. This is my first visit to Zagreb and, all in all, I am amazed with what I’ve seen. The European Business Angels Network gives full support to CRANE as a national member of EBAN in implementation of their plans.” – concluded Baybars Altuntas, Vice President of EBAN.
“It is a great honour to welcome Mr Altuntas to Zagreb and present to him all the activities we have been engaged in. Baybars Altuntas is one of the most influential business angels in Europe and his support is very important to us. We are glad that we have the same attitude toward the current situation with the Croatian ecosystem and the certification of business angels. Together we are starting a working group of the central-eastern Europe, consisting of the leading business angels organizations of every country in order to increase the efforts around cooperation and investing” – stated Davorin Štetner, President of the Croatian Business Angels Network.
