Representatives of CRANE, Davorin Štetner, President, and Damir Mujić, Board member, visited the New York Tech Meetup, where they were invited by the president of this prestigious event – Andrew Rasiej. As a part of the Meetup, a short meeting was held between the president of CRANE and Minerva Tantoco – New York City’s Chief Technology Officer. Ms Tantoco, serving as the “minister” of technology at the New York Mayor de Blasio’s Office, presented the fastest-growing technological ecosystem and start-up opportunities.
New York City expresses full support for quality technological projects in which CRANE members have invested and will provide help in a logistic sense, with the visa system and with other things through the Mayor’s Office for Technology and Innovation. They also talked about the possible arrival of New York City’s representative to the EBAN Winter University 2016 conference, organized by the Croatian Business Angels Network (CRANE) in cooperation with the City of Zagreb, on November 29 and 30 in Zagreb.
Yesterday’s New York Tech Meetup, the biggest technological event in town, presented to the participants nine projects whose innovative ideas have already achieved turnovers of more than 100 million USD. An interesting thing that the president of the organization said was that the tickets for the event, 500 of them at a price of 10 USD, were sold out one minute after going on sale.
“Things move really quickly in New York and that’s why this is the fastest-growing technological ecosystem in the world. It is extremely important to make these kinds of contacts because it allows our start-ups an easier entry into this market which should be everyone’s goal. Ms Tantoco has expressed readiness to help with the logistics, and when something like that is offered by the first person for technology in New York, directly answering to the Mayor – I don’t even have to say how powerful that is. I am looking forward to developing cooperation with New York City and its ecosystem. We should learn from the strongest!” – concluded Davorin Štetner, President of CRANE.
