Davorin Štetner, President of the Croatian Business Angels Network – CRANE at the EBAN’s General Assembly in Sofia, was elected as a member of the Management Board of this organization. EBAN (European Business Angels Network) is the world’s largest community of business angels, investors, accelerators, incubators, and other startup ecosystems. Established in 1999, and headquartered in Brussels. It is made up of over 293 members from over 60 countries representing a sector that invests over 7.5 billion euros per year. Business Angels, VC Funds, Accelerators and other investors in the startup community are EBAN. Since 2016, he was the chairman of EBAN CEE, which will continue. EBAN advises the European Commission, partners with giants such as ESA, the Amazon, Elite London Stock Exchange and many others.
EBAN Presidents have so far been some of the world’s largest managers such as Peter Jungen – former German STRABAG chief, Candace Johnson – founder of ASTRA Satellite Company, and members of the board of directors were top experts, entrepreneurs, and investors.
New EBAN leadership is made up of President Peter Cowley, a British serial investor with over 45 investments in startup and UK angel of the year. Vice Presidents are again the Rik Asikainen, founder of one of the largest startup conferences – SLUSH and Baybars Altuntas. The new board of directors consists of highly experienced investors such as Peter Braun (Switzerland), Ricarda Luz (Portugal), Audra Shallal (USA), Cristine Bjarkby (Sweden), Ian Sosso (Monaco) Priit Rohumaa (Estonia), and etc.
“I’m proud that members of the EBAN Assembly recognized mine and CRANE engagement. It is a great honor to be in the circle of experienced investors who have invested tens of millions of euros, and actively shape the startup ecosystem. We became noticeable to EBAN by the great organization of the largest start-up conference in Croatia’s history – EBAN Winter University 2016, which we, together with the city of Zagreb and with the great help of the President of the Republic of Croatia, organized in Lisinski concert hall. I have a lot of ideas on how to work even better, and I believe that I will justify the trust I have shown with this choice! This is a great acknowledgment to Croatia because in 19 years of EBAN this is the first time that the Croat is a member of the board of directors”, said Davorin Štetner, President of CRANE and member of EBAN’s Management Board.
