CRANE President in a Roundtable with World Bank Vice President Antonella Bassani

On the occasion of the visit of Antonella Bassani, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia, to Croatia, a roundtable was held at the institution’s headquarters, bringing together the World Bank and a group of selected Croatian stakeholders from the business and investment ecosystem. The discussion focused on the development challenges facing the Republic of Croatia and the World Bank’s plans for the next five-year period.

The roundtable was also attended by Davorin Štetner, President of the Croatian Investors & Business Angels Association – CRANE, who highlighted the significant progress made over the past decade, while also addressing ongoing challenges, such as the digitalization of the judicial system. He emphasized that such digitalization could significantly accelerate processes and relieve the burden on courts — a priority CRANE has been working on in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration, and Digital Transformation in recent months.

The World Bank is one of the key partners in implementing reform measures and has so far invested over €3.9 billion in Croatia. In addition to Vice President Antonella Bassani, the roundtable was also attended by Jehan Arulpragasam, Country Manager for the World Bank in Croatia, and Josip Funda, Senior Economist for Croatia and Slovenia.
