CRANE SUPPORTED NEW STARTUP SCENE OF ŠIBENIK

In organization of Croatian Business Angels Network (CRANE) and the City of Šibenik on the fortress Barone a special edition of Startup Wednesday has been held, where Davorin Štetner, the president of CRANE, Hrvoje Prpić and Saša Cvetojević, members of the board committee of CRANE, shared their experiences to all participants through panel discussion. The participants were also, among other things, explained the difference between business angels and traditional investors, answered the question on how to attract business angels, and if there is a key to the success of entrepreneurial ideas.

 After the panel discussion three startups from Šibenik presented their  ideas through a three-minute presentation, so-called pitch. The opportunity to pitch in front of the members of CRANE was given to startups Bite Me, Biz2Run and Tech teens Šibenik. A particular impression on members of CRANE was made by members of Tech teens Šibenik, seven teenagers from Šibenik aged 11-16 years  who have passed the first stage of education programming. With praise, they have successfully concluded their first cooperation. Sasa Cvetojević and Davorin Štetner decided to donate laptop computers for this youngest startup of Šibenik.

“CRANE will always support these efforts and we are very pleased that in a short time Šibenik has created a strong foundation for the development of the startup ecosystem. We are especially happy to work with children of primary school because it is in the final grades of primary school when young people should be introduced to entrepreneurship. Personally, and with other members of CRANE we have already agreed on a way to help purchasing IT equipment “- said Davorin Štetner, President of CRANE.

In addition to stimulating panel discussion, in the fortress Barone the fourth CRANE Brunch was held within which CRANE members and representatives of the City of Šibenik with the mayor Željko Burić discussed proposals and measures to improve the business climate and facilitating investments.

On this occasion, the mayor Burić said that “Local environment, namely City of Šibenik nourishes the spirit of creativity and initiative and recognizes the needs of its young, creative forces and with the organization of such events further facilitates their work. Hereby one great story was told and created a prerequisite for the achievement of a positive economic effect in the end. “
