Delegation of CRANE visits EBAN Porto 2016 Congress

Representatives of CRANE, Davorin Štetner, President, Hrvoje Prpić and Damir Mujić, Board members, and Ivan Crnković, visited the EBAN Porto Congress on May 25 – 27. Over 250 business angels, investors, incubator, accelerator and venture capital funds representatives from all over the world met for three days to discuss the construction of Scale-up ecosystem for Europe.

Some of the newest trends in entrepreneurship and start-up industry were presented through the conference program. Special emphasis was put on New Space phenomenon, Impact investing which highlights smart money and focuses on health and geopolitical problems as well as on the influence of women in entrepreneurship and investments.

Assembly of the European Business Angels Network (EBAN) also gathered at the Porto conference and voted on the new leadership of the organization. Candace Johnson was re-elected EBAN President for a two-year term, Baybars Altuntas from Turkey and Riku Asikainen from Finland were elected vice-presidents, and the newly elected secretary of EBAN is Jesper Jarlbaek.

12871468_1802064630021437_3246676016579808704_nWorkshops for entrepreneurs, in the form of special training and pitch sessions, were held as a part of the conference, and 50 start-ups were given the chance to present their projects at Demo Day held on May 25.

President of CRANE, Davorin Štetner, held a speech in which he presented the EBAN Winter University 2016 in Zagreb. The promo movie for the Zagreb conference was shown to the public, and thrilled them. After that there was a short meeting with the IT advisor of the Mayor of Porto, Felipe Araújo, who announced the arrival of Porto’s representative in Zagreb.
