The second Diplomatic Breakfast of the members of the Croatian Investors & Business Angels Association – CRANE was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Zagreb. Following the meeting with the Israeli Ambassador Gary Koren, this time the guest of honor was the Ambassador of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Simon Thomas, OBE.
During the nearly two-hour discussion, participants covered a wide range of topics related to investments, the business environment post-Brexit, as well as the current geopolitical situation and the rapid changes in the global economy. CRANE members were particularly interested in topics such as the UK’s current tax policy and the long-term growth and investment strategies of the new government led by Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
A special focus was given to CRANE’s initiative to analyze best practices from the British judicial system and the Companies House agency, which has been well received by the Croatian Ministry of Justice, led by Minister Damir Habijan. Several meetings have already taken place on this topic, aiming to reduce the burden on the judiciary and accelerate case processing in the Court Register.
The event was attended by around fifteen members of Croatia’s oldest investors’ association, both in person at the Sheraton and via live stream.
