Members of CRANE invested in the startup already supported by Ivan Rakitić

If you wonder what does the famous Croatian footballer Ivan Rakitić has to do with smartphone applications, the answer is Scorrers – an online platform that enables celebrities such as footballers to have giveaways and reward their fans’ loyalty. Croatian entrepreneurs and investors Davorin Štetner, president of the Croatian Business Angels Network (CRANE), Hrvoje Prpić, CRANE’s Board member and another CRANE’s member, Mario Petrić, have noticed a great viral potential of this application and decided to invest in Scorrers.

“Since my projects have been related to professional sport for a long time now, the investment in Scorrers seemed convenient. Ivan Ilečić designed an excellent platform, and the involvement of Ivan Rakitić and other Barcelona’s players had only stressed the importance of the project. I am assured that my circle of acquaintances from Formula 1 will contribute to the project.” said Davorin Štetner, president of CRANE.

Wayne Rooney’s football shirt, signed ball from New York Giants and a signed shirt from Ivan Rakitić are just some of the gifts that the users of the Scorrers’ platform can win. The platform allows celebrities to gift their fans who use the application. Through the application, that is currently free for all, the fans can earn “credits” and later replace them for tickets needed to participate in the giveaway. After a lucky winner is selected, Scorrers collects the gifts from celebrities, packs the items and sends them to the winner.

To Hrvoje Prpić, CRANE’s Board member, this is the 9th investment in startups and a second investment in Ivan Ilečić. On this occasion he said: “Ivan approached me in the early stages of the project and together we have corrected the overall business model of the story which is still being worked out and corrected, just like any other startup. With the involvement of Ivan Rakitić, Scorrers has become even more interesting and a significant progress was made in the project’s realization. I believe that there are high hopes for crowdinvesting campaign to succeed and thus place Scorrers as the second most successful campaign in Croatia.”

Recently Scorrers reached out to the English crowdfunding platform with the aim to present the project to investors in the global market and to collect the users’ reactions on it. In just 10 days from the start of the campaign, the startup founders Ivan Ilečić and Ivan Rakitić have attracted 33 investors via the Seedrs platform who invested a total of 800,000 kunas.
