Representatives of CRANE at the “Market of entrepreneurial ideas” conference

On Friday, October 23, 2015, the “Market of entrepreneurial ideas” conference was held, organized by the Youth Association and the Alumni of the Faculty of Economics and Tourism in Pula. Conference program consisted of a panel discussion on the topic “START UP”, presentation of CES’ (Croatian Employment Service) employment programmes and a competition in writing business plans in which five teams participated.
The participants of the panel discussion were Davorin Štetner, President of CRANE, Damir Mujić, member of CRANE’s Board of Directors, Ivan Brezak Brkan, founder of Netokracija, Ivor Bihar, product manager of Degordian, and Iva Soldo, cofounder of BambooLab, and with the gathered young entrepreneurs they shared very useful advice on business and looked back on their beginnings in entrepreneurship.
In the second part of the conference followed a presentation of CES’ self-employment programmes, after which Kristina Radolović (Key Consluting d.o.o.) and Vanja Prvulović (Sinapsa) shared their experiences as the support beneficiaries.
In the last part of the conference, five teams presented their business plans, in the following order:
– BOWLING ALLEY BOWLTIME (Karla Bonaca, Jelena Čudić and Roberta Pavlović)
– ČOKOLUX&ARTSI (Katarina Žumbar)
– ECO KINDERGARTEN (Tihana Putinja)
– SMART HAND WASHER (Romina Petaros)
– TABERNA ROMANA (Nikolina Cerovac, Albert Putinja and Zović Valentina)
Each team had 10 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for questions from the jury consisting of Davorin Štetner and Damir Mujić, representatives of CRANE, Siniša Miljević, Executive Director of IRTA (Istrian Tourism Development Agency), Cinzia Zubin, Head of the Regional office for Istria of HBOR (Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development), and Zoran Besak from the Ethical bank. Main prize for the best business plan was 8,000.00 Kuna, within which 1,000.00 Kuna was the value of the tablet, 1,000.00 was for the office material and 6,000.00 Kuna of funds to be spent for setting up the company.
Between the presentations of business plans and the jury decision on the winner, Ivan Brezak Brkan held a lecture with the topic “Colleague, your digital career has just started,” which proved very interesting and well attended.
The winner of the competition was Romina Petaros with an innovative product SMART HAND WASHER. Romina amazed the jury bringing the prototype and making a video which shows that the product has been tested. Apart from that, she managed answering the jury questions very well and won deservedly.
At the very end of the conference, it was announced that this project will be held every year in the future, and will become a tradition for the young entrepreneurs in Pula.
