The BBCC Brexit Task Force, established at the British Business Chamber Croatia (BBCC), held its first meeting on July 13th. The meeting’s aim was to define main challenges and opportunities for Croatian companies in future bilateral negotiations between Croatia and UK considering the circumstances of Brexit.
Task Force members, including Davorin Štetner, the President of the Croatian Business Angels Network (CRANE), have agreed that the key sectors in bilateral economic co-operation between the two cuntries are tourism and real estate investments, and that the most important issues in the future will tackle the movement of people and services.
The BBCC Brexit Task Force was founded on the initiative of Chamber members after the “Let’s Talk Brexit!” round table organized by the BBCC in June, which aim was to define the standpoints and give recommendations to Croatian companies that collaborate with the UK.
After the second round table that will take place in September, the BBCC will submit to the Croatian Government their recommendations on how to advocate the Croatian economy interests in future negotiations. The idea is to address the dilemmas and demands of Croatian businesses.
Davorin Štetner, the President of Croatia’s Business Angels Network (CRANE) pointed out: “Although no one on this side wished for Brexit, we have to accept the fact that it is happening. Negotiations are the most important part of the process and it is essential to do the best we can for the cooperation regarding the current circumstances. I believe that the economy is the most important bridge in the whole process“.
