This year’s first session of CRANE’s Board of Directors held

On Thursday, January 28, this year’s first session gathered Davorin Štetner (President) and Saša Cvetojević, Mihovil Barančić, Hrvoje Prpić and Damir Mujić, members of CRANE’s Board of Directors. On a lengthy session, they mainly discussed CRANE’s upcoming activities in 2016, emphasizing new members, partnerships and networking on a global level.

Great progress was made when it comes to new members. The beginning of the year was marked with accepting three new, prominent members Dario Marenić, Aljoša Domijan and Dražen Turujlija which further expanded CRANE’s influence outside Croatia. Many applications for CRANE membership are still under consideration, so the trend of the growing number of members will continue, which increases the probability of new investments in Croatian start-ups.

One of the topics on the session was also the cooperation with the competent institutions. In mid-January, meetings with the Zagreb City Office for Economy, labour and enterprises and the Croatian Chamber of Economy were held in order to further strengthen their ongoing cooperation. The cooperation with the City of Zagreb started last year and the first steps were made with partnership at the Zagreb Connect conference. Additional guidelines were set at the new meeting, and the results of the cooperation will be visible soon.

In 2015, great progress was made with regard to expanding the influence on a global level, and this year it will continue at an even higher pace. As a reminder, last year CRANE was officially named the national representative of Croatia in the European Business Angels Network (EBAN) and a member of the Global Business Angels Network (GBAN). This year’s first opportunities to strengthen international cooperation are World Business Angels Forum in Istanbul and the Croatian American Professionals Congress in Washington, which CRANE members will visit during February and April .
