We encourage entrepreneurship from the earliest age!

Today, a new national project called Entrepreneurship from the Nest to the Stars was presented at the Elementary School Stjepan Radić in Brestovec Orehovički. The presentation was also attended by President of the Croatian Network of Business Angels (CRANE) Davorin Štetner.

It is a project funded by the Ministry of Science and Education, conducted by the Institute PAR (Life Business Academy) for lifelong learning and Zlatar Bistrica and Stjepan Radic Brestovec Orehovički Elementary School. The purpose of the project is to encourage entrepreneurship from the earliest age and to enable young people to acquire entrepreneurial skills. Students are offered the opportunity to create a safe and stimulating environment in which everyone can propose their ideas, try out their solutions, shape products and services and test them in the real world market.

As part of the project, pupils of Stjepan Radić  Brestovec Orehovicki and Zlatar Bistrica, besides exhibiting and various handicrafts that they have independently created, have also demonstrated the work of a new EPUZ application, tailor-made for smartphones and tablets. The name of the application is the acronym for the service (e-Business of Student Cooperatives) that it plans to be offered to all Croatian student cooperatives operating in primary and secondary schools and has more than 500 of them.

“Thanks to the announced engagement and participation of the Croatian Chamber of Crafts and Croatian Chamber of Agriculture, we will ensure the long-term sustainability and viability of this project, which represents a new step in the promotion and development of our students’ entrepreneurial and financial competencies”, said Head of Primary Staff Stjepan Radić Brestovec Orehovički, Zdenko Kobeščak.

The project was supported by the chairman of the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts Dragutin Ranogajec who thinks that is extremely important to encourage entrepreneurship from the earliest age and build a business network like a family that will work together and raises business to a new level.

“Croatia has a bright future! I saw, today! It was a great pleasure to see a director Zdenko Kobeščak presenting the project From the Nest to the Stars project in which children are already starting their elementary school business projects. They have developed their app, in brainstorming sessions that lasted half an hour they had 135 ideas, many of them realizing. They are having their own radio, TV studio, a cloud classroom, and are included in the Croatian Makers. The students themselves presented the projects. I am delighted with the level of presentation and seriousness. I’m happy because, under the visible surface of Croatia’s negativity, a new Croatia is developing! This is the kind of Croatia I want, and which will in 10 years, essentially improve in the things we are fighting for today, “said CRANE President Davorin Štetner.
