Zagreb Connect 2017 Meetup Workshop has been held

Zagreb Connect MeetUp Workshop has been held on Thursday, October 12, 2017, in the Technological Park at the Zagreb Fair and allowed its participants to hear tips on how to write the best pitch application for this year’s Zagreb Connect competition. The workshop had covered the application process itself, but also the most common mistakes regarding it. It examined what makes the difference between a good and a bad pitch, as well as what to focus on in order to write an outstanding application get their “place on the stage” thanks to it.

The goal of the Meetup was achieved. The audience actively participated in the workshop by asking questions after the presentation about the application process held by Vanja Andrić, one of the directors of the Founder Institute. Introductory speech was held by Davorin Štetner, the President of the Croatian Business Angels Network (CRANE), who advised the startups that: “Even if you don’t go to the finals, do not despair, because failure is an essential part of success and it is more important to learn from the mistakes and keep moving.” He was accompanied by Nera Pavić, assistant Head of Office – City Office for Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship in  Zagreb, who confirmed that Zagreb Connect’s goal is to give the startups the opportunity to present themselves and connect with investors.

Each year, more than 250 startups apply for the Zagreb Connect pitch competition. Each application is reviewed by several experienced mentors and investors in order to determine who will have the privilege to step on the stage and present their startup to the investors.

Zagreb Connect is a startup conference where startup teams have the opportunity to present their ideas to the potential investors, investment institutions and business angels. At the Zagreb Connect’s bootcamp, the startups are practicing their presentation skills and preparing for the pitch to present their ideas to the investors.

This year, the application deadline for the pitch contest is November 1, 2017. You can find out more about the conference at www.zagrebconnect.com, or see the impressions about the MeetUp Workshop in the video below.
